Concrete Scanning for Wudhu Area Modification at Menara TH Selborn

With Ramadhan approaching, Menara TH Selborn needed urgent modifications to its Surau (prayer room) to accommodate a new drainage system for the Wudhu(ablution) area.

Given that the work required coring through an occupied commercial building, it was crucial to ensure that no reinforcement bars, utilities, or post-tensioned cables would be affected during the process. Any misstep could compromise the building’s structural integrity or disrupt daily operations.

To eliminate these risks, Xradar™ Concrete Scanning was used to map out the subsurface conditions before any coring took place by Sonicon Construction. The advanced non-destructive scanning method provided detailed imaging of hidden reinforcements, conduits, and voids, ensuring that all coring locations were carefully selected.

The scanning process covered four designated locations where the new drainage system would be installed. The data obtained from Xradar™ allowed contractors to proceed confidently, knowing exactly where to core without damaging critical structural components.

With precise imaging and accurate subsurface data, the project was executed smoothly within the tight timeframe. The scanning eliminated uncertainty, ensuring that the coring process from Sonicon Construction was completed without any damage or delays, allowing the new Surau to be fully operational in time for Ramadhan.
